Joseph G. Pelletier
Joe is a founding partner of Navegate Inc. He started in the supply chain industry 20+ years ago as a licensed customs broker, and still feels it's one of the best ways to learn the industry. Not stopping there, he moved on to spend 10 years in sales and another eight in senior management. As President, Joe oversees all of Navegate's branches, worldwide, and leads technology strategy. His leadership style is known as relentless and inspiring. He firmly believes in continually finding new ways for technology to support the logistics industry, and he makes sure Navegate continues to invest in people, taking time to help new recruits find their way. Joe earned a B.A. in History from his beloved University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He loves music and is often caught singing a tune around the office.
Chad is a founding partner of Navegate Inc. Look for him by the coffee, sharing an insight on the rapid economic and social development in China, where he studied, worked and traveled for six years. With over 20 years experience in logistics and supply chain management, Chad works with leaders across Navegate to develop and implement strategic business plans, evaluate financial performance, and identify areas in need of improvement. He believes in Navegate's commitment to developing human capital and their drive to continually improve their technology. Chad earned a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology at Drake University in Iowa, then started his career in logistics, focusing in on his interest in international business. At home, Chad relies on his easy grin and his dry humor to help him raise and learn from his kids and family.
Travis is a founding partner of Navegate Inc. With 25+ years in sales, 17 of which focused on trucking, logistics and supply chain, Travis has earned his reputation as the “answer guy” for customers' logistics challenges. He finds it invigorating to help clients overcome their most puzzling obstacles, and he feels confident that Navegate has what it takes to improve any supply chain. At the office, Travis helps foster relationship building with new and existing clients, and he spends time mentoring sales teams and sharing his industry knowledge. He earned a B.A. in Mass Communication from the University of South Dakota, and remains firmly rooted in the Midwest. Travis is involved in various community groups, and nationally advocates for preventing juvenile diabetes, a cause close to his heart. He makes time to coach his daughters' softball and basketball teams, and enjoys time with his family and a good workout.
Troy D. Thie
Troy is a founding partner of Navegate Inc. With 30+ years in domestic transportation, Troy has spent the last two learning all he can about the international side of the business, and he approaches it with the zest of a college freshman. As vice president, Troy oversees domestic operations for both asset and third-party logistics (3PL), coaching employees to find new ways to work more efficiently, using both time-tested and new methods. Troy also leads efforts to further expand and develop Navegate's international network of agents. Despite his loud insistence that a phone call is worth more than any email, Troy believes in the future of Navegate's technology, proud that it is capable to handle supply chains for some of the finest companies in the world. He earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of South Dakota. Off duty, you'll find Troy absorbed in a book, off to a sporting event, or listening to talk radio.
Admittedly “not too bad” at golf, Curtis creates an invigorating work environment in which old school ways of doing business are continually challenged, and staying on the leading edge of supply chain software is imperative. As director of IT, Curtis oversees all projects that pertain to application development of the Navegate web portal, keeping everyone on task to build fantastic software. With 20+ years in the logistics software field, Curtis has experience building everything from desktop applications to collaborative web portals, and a special interest and expertise in integrating with ERP systems. Curtis earned his B.S. in Economics with a minor in Math and Computer Science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Curtis claims that every day he learns something about the industry that he didn't know before.
Behind the “employee of the month” sign he has had on his desk for years, you'll find a good-humored H.R. professional passionate about his people. J.P.'s mission is to build a workforce so cohesive that it is Navegate's competitive advantage. Starting his career of 20+ years, he worked at a large third-party logistics (3PL) company, developing a top-flight recruiting division and managing it as a profit center. He later worked in various industries, including software, finally returning to supply chain management as Navegate's vice president of human capital. Working in a supply chain company with a software emphasis combines two of his key interests, and he gets excited at the prospect of consciously designing a culture, and connecting performance to productivity. In essence, he builds the people who build the company. J.P. has an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas, and a B.A. in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. At home, he loves to work on his house, listen to music, and do a little woodworking.
An award-winning designer and creative director, Richard believes that design can be the ultimate differentiator and change the trajectory of a business. Navegate agrees, and has aligned the entire organization around a shared creative vision. With over 20 years building brands both strategically and creatively for a wide range of industries and an impressive list of clients—Target, Nike, MTV, Best Buy, Macy’s, Blu Dot, American Eagle Outfitters, and The New York Times, to name only a few—it’s no surprise he became fascinated by the scale and complexity of the logistics and technology industry. His work has received recognition from nearly every design publication in the world. In 2007, his former agency was named as one of the Style and Design 100 by Time magazine, followed by a nomination for the Cooper Hewitt National Design Award in 2011. Graduating with a B.S. from Flagler College in Florida, Richard also studied Business Perspectives for Creative Leaders at Yale University.
Jim has more than 10 years of experience in accounting and finance with companies both international and domestic. He’s also certified CrossFit trainer and family man. Jim finds parallels between what it takes to be a fitness trainer and what it takes to be a good manager. As VP of Finance, Jim looks forward to solving problems at Navegate every day and helping the company make important decisions. He focuses on supporting and developing his employees, knowing that they are the force that powers Navegate. Jim focuses on the growth of the company, motivated in knowing that we have the opportunity to make a significant change to our industry. Jim earned a B.A. in Accounting and Management at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota and his Masters of Accountancy at the University of Nevada – Las Vegas. When he’s not wearing Navegate green, you can catch him sporting Ohio State’s scarlet and grey. He most looks forward to his business trips to China, where he is often mistaken for Vin Diesel. At home, you can find him spending as much time as he can with his wife and two children.
